#Teisco del rey checkmate 8 serial#
Anyway, it's Made in U.S.A, serial #C36283, input power is 21 watts 117 volts 50-60 cycles. under several brand names including Silvertone, Jedson, Kent. Teisco guitars were also imported in the U.S. I haven't looked into this - it might be an easy, simple fix. Teisco guitars sold in the United States were badged 'Teisco Del Rey' beginning in 1964. I can play loud enough to cover the hum, but it's still there. It powers up great, the little jewel light shines brightly, BUT there's a constant annoying hum. It looks like maybe an 8" speaker that appears to be in great shape. There's a slight but noticeable scratch near the right of the tone knob (see pics), but this is a survivor that's been well taken care of and in remarkably clean condition for such an old amp. The covering (tolex?) is in wonderful shape and everything is all original, even down to the two-pronged cord. I'm not sure of the date from what I can gather maybe mid to late 60s. Here's a great little solid state Teisco Del Rey CM-12 Checkmate 12 in beautiful condition.
